Colloidal particles in various dispersive conditions offer important processing keys to achieve shape-forming
capability in micro- to nano-scales. Advanced ceramics using the particles are processed in tight-controlled engineering aspects to make parts with specified optical, electronic, thermal and mechanical properties. In the past decade, we have demonstrated several applications using the technique, including
*precision ceramic injection molding (PCIM);
*photonic bandgap crystals; *solid oxide fuel cells.
