The team Frontmaterials from Department of Materials Science and Engineering, National Taiwan University was awarded the top five in the final of FITI (From IP to IPO) program launched by MOST (Ministry of Science and Technology), which designed to help entrepreneur-teams transform their research achievements and exceptional innovation ideas into creative products or startups.
 
The team was awarded for its unique techniques on new generation photovoltaics, which is featured by light-weight, flexible, and indoor applicable properties. This kind of photovoltaics can be combined into IC card, indoor thermal sensor, remote controller, etc. With this novel technique, one thousand billion of batteries is expected to be saved world wide.
 
The team was led by Department of Materials Science and Engineering, National Taiwan University Professor Wei-Fang Su, whose Frontier Materials Research Laboratory is dedicated to the research of polymer synthesis, advanced hybrid material design, and nanomaterials processing. The team also includes some experts in marketing, business, and financial affairs.
