Abstract: This presentation will first introduce the Higher Education in Australia, especially the Group of Eight Universities. It is followed by an overview on the present research on the developments of hydrogen storage materials for different applications. First, a carbonaceous nanomaterial and a highly porous material with high hydrogen storage capacity and fast kinetics will be presented. They will be ideal to serve as on-board hydrogen storage medium. The use of hydrogen storage for remote area and mobile power supply system has also been proposed in the presentation, showing some actual applications in different industrial sectors.
