演講摘要Nanoarchitectonics engineering on nanocrystals aims to optimize their functions and render them superior catalysts for energy-conversion reactions. In the cases of heterogenous catalysts, recent strategies have been focused on manipulating their surface states by altering the compositions, defects, and strain, which exhibit required electronic and lattice-strain effects beneficial for catalytic reactions. In this presentation, the concept of nanoarchitectonics in nano-creation of bimetallic nanocrystals for superior catalytic properties will be introduced by taking examples of Pd-based and Cu-based nanocrystals with alloyed or core-shell structures. In the first part, Au-Pd icosahedral nanocrystals will be specifically discussed as the unique strain structure plays a key to the enhanced catalytic performance in both electrocatalytic and photocatalytic redox reactions. Moreover, insights into their electronic structures and charge transfer by X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) will be explained. In the other part, a series of stories about Cu-templated nanocatalysts with bimetallic Cu-M surfaces will be presented, where the syntheses, the characterizations with synchrotron-radiation technologies, and the applications in electrochemical redox reactions will be explicitly illustrated.
