Abstract :

The majority of the previously reported studies on nanocomposite capacitors were aimed at obtaining higher energy density (>15 J cm-3) and higher breakdown strength (>4000 kVcm-1). The operation of capacitors in such higher applied electric field would bring great challenges owing to their high failure probability. It is often desirable to obtain higher energy density but at a lower applied electric field. Nanocomposites that made from the well-dispersed and highly orientation fillers play vital roles in the high energy density, especially in the one dimension fillers aligned in one direction. In this research, a novel design that enabled the fabrication of highly [110]-oriented titanate-based nanorod array (BaTiO3 and (Ba, Sr)TiO3) was demonstrated for the first time by a three-step hydrothermal reaction.
