Abstract

With the increasing demand for the replacement of non-renewable energy by sustainable energy, a lot of effort has been invested in the conversion of biomass to biofuels. There are various catalytic reactions involved in the biofuel production by using different catalysts. In this talk, I will mainly discuss the TiO2 catalysts applied in some chemical reactions. The effects of loaded metal nanoparticles, defects, surface acidity and basicity, hydrogen pressure, selectivity, catalyst deactivation, etc., will be mentioned on the basis density functional theory calculations.
